best contacts for astigmatism

What are the best contacts for astigmatism?

Question: Hi. :) I’m nearsighted and have astigmatism. I was thinking of trying contacts so… what are the best kinds?

Also I’m kinda scared that I won’t be able to take them out so any tips would be nice. Okay thanks and goodnight :) .

Answer: I wear purevision toric and I am pleased with them. Keep in mind that one brand may work well for some people and is lousy for others. The only way to know what works best for you is to be properly fitted for contacts by your eye doctor.

What is the best contacts for astigmatism?

Question: My eye doctor prescribed me a brand called biomedics (toric). They suck! they always irritate my eyes, they get dry really fast, I can’t get through half a page of a book without my them irritating me.

Answer: One of the newest brands of torics lenses that my own doctor prescribed to me and the vast majority of my patients who have an astigmatism are the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. They are, by far, the most comfortable lenses and my eyes hardly dry out in comparison to other toric lenses I have tried. It might be in your best interest to ask your doctor what other lenses are out there and explain to him the symptoms you are having with this particular brand. Im sure there is something out there that will help fix your issue with your contacts:)

What are the best contacts for someone with an Astigmatism?

Question: I am going to be going to the eye doctor and I wanted to know which contacts to ask for. I have an Astigmatism and I heard it was difficult to find good contacts for it. Anyone have an astigmatism and wears contacts? I would really appreciate the advice. Thanks! :)

Answer: I wear Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism and they work great for me I have a pretty high power too. They were the first ones my doctor had me try and I haven’t looked back. If your doctor knows what they’re doing then THEY will asses what type you need. Not everyone’s eyes work the same. Acuve may be good for me but it may not for you. It could be a different brand or type (like Oaysis) best thing to do is tell your doctor you want contact lenses and let them conduct the exam and they decide with their knowledge (after all they’re the ones that went to school for this not you and not me) what contact lenses they think will fit you best. From there they will give you a trial pair. If that doesn’t work they’ll probably reasses what you need and try something else.
