Can I buy coloured toric contact lenses in the UK?
Question: I have astigmatism and would like to wear coloured contact lenses. I know there are toric coloured lenses out there, but can't find anywhere in the UK that sells them. Can anyone help?
Answer: To wear these you need a fitting. So you need to find an optiican who deals with coloured lenses and can get you a fitting and a perscription. A lot of opticians dont' do coloured lenses as they aren't as good for yoru eyes as clear, and so your wearing time is reduced. Torics come in quite restricted ranges as well and depending on your perscription may not be available at all.
If you want this then you need to shop round various opticians. Perhaps phone up to ask. Once you ahve the perscription you can then buy online. its dangerous not to have contacts fitted and illegal to supply without a perscription in the UK.

Can I get reuse able contact lenses coloured if I have astigmatism?
Question: At a decent price, I my optometrist said it would cost £250 (which is well too much because its for only one day) for a temporary one with colour because I have astigmatism in one eye. I would really love reuse able coloured contact lenses in the UK if I have astigmatism in one eye that is prescribed so I can see better, thanks.
Answer: I'm sure I've seen on answers that there are coloured torics but in limited colours and for limited perscriptions So its going to depend what your perscription is. £250 seems well ridiculous. You'd need a perscription for them though so s/he would have to give you that then you could shop for them on line. Look on-line for coloured torics and see what the prices look like to see if you are being ripped off. You could go to another optician for an estimate as well. If its only for one day and you aren't driving you might be able to wear non-torics – you wouldn't see as well , how badly would depend on your astigmatism, but you say its only one eye so you might get away with it.
