Can you recommend where to buy contact lenses online when your prescription isn't up to date?
Question: I need to order some disposable contact lenses in a hurry as I've just realised I've run out. I don't have a current contact lense prescription (every website I've checked states that you must have a test that is less than a year old). Can anyone recommend a reliable site that ships to the UK and one where you don't need to put in your optician's details?
Answer: You can't, it's the law, they all have to request a prescription. You will have to get one done – if you ring around the opticians you should be able to get one sorted soon.

Daily disposable coloured contact lenses?
Question: Does anyone know if there are any good disposable coloured lenses available anywhere? The only ones I can find are the Freshlook 1 Day Colours, but these only come in 4 colour choices, and the colours are very very faint – they don't make a big lot of difference to be honest.
Any other ones I've seen are monthly disposable, and although there's a lot more choice there and the colours seem to be a lot stronger, I don't wear my contacts often enough to make these worth while.
I only wear them once in a while, so the 1 day disposables are definitely the ones to go for, for me. When you open the monthly ones, you have to throw them out after 30 days, so it's not worth me spending the money on them.
Any suggestions really appreciated. I've done extensive searching on the internet, but can't find any others anywhere.
For info, I'm in the UK, and would prefer lenses that can be done with a prescription – but if there are non-prescription daily disposables out there then I'd be happy with them too.
Many thanks.
Answer: I'm horrible with my contacts–they're supposed to be two week lenses but I'll wear them for months. Have done so for about nine years now. Since you only wear contacts occasionally, it would probably be fine to keep them for longer than 30 days so long as you're storing them properly. They say 30 days because of protein build up, mostly, so if you're not wearing them often they'll last quite a bit longer. Different ophthalmologists will tell you different things, though. Have you discussed it with yours?

Daily Disposable Contact Lenses Questions?
Question: Hey, I usually wear my contact lenses on a night out with the lads. I usually put them in at like 5pm and go out drinking but god knows where I'll end up. I have not done so yet but I was just wondering if it's ok to fall asleep with your lenses in as I'll probably end up forgeting to take them out. Thanks.
p.s I'm going on holiday to Ibiza soon for a week and I despertly need my lenses over there but since there daily and shipped to myhome in the UK how can i get them over to Ibiza? Should I just not go a few days wearing them so I can collect them all and bring them on holiday with me. Also, are daily disposables more comfortable than monthly ones? Thanks.
So you kept your contacts in for 2 weeks without taking them out :S jees.
Answer: This can be very dangerous i've wore contacts for over 13 years and I use to sleep in my daily contacts. I developed a serious eye infection and had to be rushed to the ER. No joke it was horrifying and very painful. The doctor said I had too much protein build up from my contacts. And I only slept in them a couple of times. So please be very careful. If your gonna be gone for awhile try the disposable ones or wear your glasses for a while. Good Luck and be Safe.
